Please contact the Auctioneer before an auction if you have any questions about a lot or any aspect of the auction whatsoever.

Any dispute arising from this auction must be referred to the Auctioneer. If the Auctioneer cannot resolve the dispute it will be referred to the SACS Committee who will respond in due course.

Members who submit lots for auction must submit a full and proper description of the lots to the Auctioneer, including Reserve and Estimated Prices.

Each lot description must be accompanied by a scanned image of the lot of saved as a 300 dpi JPG file. These scanned images are to be sent to the Auctioneer.

Photos of the lots can only be submitted provided that they are properly lit, cropped to remove the background and that the aspect ratio is not distorted. Scans are preferred.

Lots are not to be sent to the Auctioneer. Vendors will retain the lots in their possession. The Vendor will be responsible for postage and dispatch to the buyer.

The Auctioneer will contact the Vendor after the auction and advise of any sales and the value thereof and to provide the Vendor with the winning bidders contact address details for the purpose of arranging postage.

The Vendor will arrange postage and advise the Auctioneer of its cost. Once the cost of postage has been confirmed by the Vendor, the Auctioneer will request full payment including postage from the winning bidder.

Vendors will only dispatch the winning bids once the Auctioneer confirms full payment has been made.

The Vendor will be paid only after receipt of the winning bidder’s full payment, the dispatch of sold lots to them and the deduction of a 10% commission to SACS by the Auctioneer.

Postage and Posting

This is to be completed between Auctioneer, Vendor and Buyer.

The Vendor will discuss with the Buyer the method of postage required.

Once the Vendor has a cost for the Buyer’s preferred method of postage, the Vendor will immediately commuicate the cost of postage to the Auctioneer who will add this to the invoice which will be sent to the Buyer for the purpose of faciltating payment.

We hope to post a list of standardised postage prices shortly.

Countries excluded from the Auction

Countries we post to include UK, Ireland, Europe, USA & Canada, Australia, New Zealand, India and Japan.

If you live outside one of these countries, please contact us before you bid to check if we can post to you. We reserve the right to not post to countries that we believe represent an unacceptable risk to the safety of our members’ philatelic material.

Deliveries to South Africa

We are unable to mail items to South Africa with any certainty that they will be speedily and efficiently delivered, if at all. While SA continues to have no reliable postal service, it is difficult for SACS to include SA members in its auction.

One solution is to courier material to SA buyers, however this is an expensive option for small purchases. If you wish to use this option, please let the Auctioneer know.

We require a local agent in SA to whom we can courier a packet of bulk SA sales for local courier delivery to members. If you live in SA and can suggest how we can deliver to you, please contact us.

I have read this and understand. I want to go to the Auction now.
