South African Philatelic and Postal History Library


The Society has hundreds of books and magazines which Members can borrow subject to their observing the rules and requirements below.


Rules regarding borrowing

  1. All library books remain the property of the South African Collectors’ Society at all times.
  2. Books may be borrowed for a limited time of two months only. During this two month period they are under the full responsibility of the borrower.
  3. The borrower is responsible for postage both ways, the onward postage being paid to the Honorary Librarian on return of the book(s).
  4. The library books are for the use of members only and should not be lent to others.
  5. It is emphasised that if an attempt is made to photocopy books loaned from the Society, the member is fully responsible for a replacement book if damage is caused to the borrowed book.
  6. Books being returned must be packed properly to prevent damage. A receipt of posting must be obtained for all returns, including heavy books being returned by Parcel Force.
