The Springbok 1953 Vol. 1 No. 1 – 6 now converted to searchable PDF

For too long SACS members talked about the information in the 300 or so old copies of The Springbok as a lost repository of knowledge gathered by dedicated philatilists over 70 years. While these magazines were available to be as read as scanned PDF files on Otto Peetoom’s Legacy Website, their downside was that they could only be read, not quickly searched for information.
Many at SACS believed that it was vital that we convert all the early scanned copies of The Springbok to searchable PDF for the benefit of our members. Sadly, no-one was prepared to tackle this task until now. The first step on this project, one central to the building of this website, has now begun. I am pleased to confirm that all six issues of The Springbok from 1953 have now been converted to searchable PDF. Once this website goes live, you will be able to find and extract information from these old issues by entering search terms like ‘coil’, ‘Boer War’, ‘coronation’, ‘interprovicial’, etc., etc.
