Changes to the SACS Committee

At the AGM (Annual General Meeting) held at the Holiday Inn, Kenilworth, on the 30th June 2024, a significant reshuffle of the SACS Committee took place.
Our Society had previously enjoyed many years of consistent, stable stewardship from our Chairman, Tony Howgrave-Graham. However, ill-health had made Tony decide to step down from the chair in favour of someone younger. Additionally, Tony had been supported by our much-liked President, John Shaw MBE, a long-serving and active Society member who had sadly died in 2022 . His position had remained unfilled.
The AGM of the Society adopted the following Committee changes:
Tony Howgrave-Graham to President.
Rob Lester to Chairman. (Tony Howgrave-Graham outgoing.)
Robert Hill to General Secretary. (Chris Oliver outgoing.)
Simon Peetoom to Membership Secretary. (Nick Arrow outgoing.)
Steve Hannath to Webmaster. (New position.)
Lyn Lester to Study Collections Organiser and Springbok Distributor.
All other positions remain unchanged.
Chris Oliver and Nick Arrow to remain Committee members.
It was also agreed that:
The Library is to be relocated.
Cedric Roche as Overseas Representative – South Africa to step down.
